Public Health Message

Are you or any of your staff aged 53 or younger?
You may need a second measles booster shot.

People in their late 20s to early 50s are increasingly contracting the measles. This is because they have either had only one or no measles vaccinations as children and are not old enough to have contracted measles and built immunity as children.

Measles outbreaks are becoming increasingly common. Measles is incredibly infectious and can have a devastating effect on your immune system and your overall health and wellbeing.

Protect yourself and others around you. Find out whether you need a second measles vaccination. Check your records for two measles vaccinations or ask your doctor to check for measles immunity.

Immunisations are free. For more information go to http://www.benalla.vic.gov.au/Your-Community/Children-Family/Immunisations
