We are a long-established and typical country town general practice. The practice is non bulk-billing, fully computerised, and AGPAL accredited. We are also a registered teaching practice with the University of Melbourne and Bogong Region Training Network.
We have been providing general practice and many other services to residents, visitors and workers of Benalla for over 35 years. The practice is situate in a beautiful old Victorian building which has been extensively refurbished and fully equipped for rural general practice.
All of our GP’s are vocationally registered and have a commitment to providing quality general practice and to continuing medical education. We have a range of other services available including diabetes education, counselling and chronic disease management.
Benalla is a beautiful small rural town situated on a lake featuring a well known Art Gallery and services a rural population of around 15,000. It is a two and a half hour drive from Melbourne on the Hume Freeway, and quite close to North Eastern wineries and snowfields.
Benalla Health is our local 35 bed hospital, our GP’s are all credentialled Visiting Medical Officers and provide all medical cover for the hospital. There are no salaried hospital doctors and no specialists resident in the town. Specialists visit from other towns to provide specialist medical care during the week. All of our GP’s participate in the after hours Town Doctor roster.
