Benalla is a vibrant, well appointed town of approx 9,200 people situated in the picturesque North East of Victoria. The Benalla Rural City has a total population of approx 14,000.

It's business community comprises many long standing family operations but continually attracts new additions which help to keep it a diverse and vibrant mix. These businesses represent various disciplines including retail, professional, trade, commercial, home-based and sheltered workshops.

In September 2004 after being without formal representation for 18 months, several of the business houses came together to form an independent group to represent Benalla and district businesses.

In October 2005 Benalla Business Network became an incorporated body and has been progressing solidly since then gaining membership and working hard towards marketing and promoting Benalla and district businesses to the wider community inside and outside the region.

Building Your Business

The Benalla Business Network, by its own initiative and in partnership with other identities such as Regional Development Victoria (RDV) and Benalla Rural City (BRC) has in the past and will continue in the future to offer programs and events to help businesses to continue to grow. As part of the Benalla Business Network's commitment to business the Benalla Business Network Business Awards have been initiated and celebrate all Benalla businesses. With the assistance of all these awards will continue to be a great success. The Benalla Business Network congradulates all 2009 Award recipients.

Whos in Charge

Benalla Business Network is a not-for-profit organisation, run by a voluntary committee of management elected by the members from the membership.

While Benalla Business Network is not formally affiliated with Benalla Rural City Council, it has the full support of councillors, CEO, General Manager of Corporate and Community Services, Tourism and Business Development Officer, Economic Development Manager, Public Relations Officer and with The Centre Small Business Advisory Service. We regularly work closely with all these people.

Vision:

The Benalla Business Network unites and promotes Benalla and district businesses to create a pro-active, informed and vibrant retail & service centre that is welcoming to residents and visitors.
Purpose:

The Benalla Business Network will

• Co-ordinate joint promotions and events within the Benalla Rural City and district   to help progress the businesses of our members.
• Liaise with the tourism authority as required.
• Liaise with the service clubs and council on relevant issues.
• Increase Benalla and district spending by promoting members goods and services.
• Communicate what Benalla and District has to offer to attract tourists and shoppers.
• Encourage and support local businesses.Seek funding from outside sources on behalf of members for promotion, education and administration.
